This post goes out to all of you, “everything needs to be perfect before I start” people. Here is something that I have noticed that happens with new reps that are struggling to promote their opportunity or product. I will get a call from a new rep who is really motivated to do really well in their business but they are having problems getting started. And when I talk to them and find out what they are doing, in most cases especially with new reps they are just spinning their wheels “learning” about a marketing technique.

When what you should be doing learning and implementing. Then when I dive deeper into the problem, and find out why they have not implemented, and it is because they want to have everything “perfect” before they decide to take action.

In the following video, I am going to take you inside my Ezine article account and show you how powerful article marketing can be and how even doing something wrong can still get you results. I failed forward through implementation.

One of the main questions that we as Internet marketers and coaches get from our new business partners is, where do I start? And typically, I send them to a Fast Start page that I have created which walks them through step by step what to do. However, even after going through and visiting the fast start page they still do not have a clear picture of the entire process, they are just pretty much painting by numbers and looking too closely at the canvas to see the entire picture.

So here is a quick birds-eye view of what your basic marketing structure should look like. There are variations but I am going to keep it fairly simple here.

At the top of the diagram you will notice all of your potential buyers or business partners, they are called prospects, because they are your prospective business partners or your prospective customers. What you want to do is get as many of them to see your product or opportunity as possible. You are going to do this through various means of marketing. I have listed a few.

Pay Per Click Ads (ex. Google Adwords)
Videos (ex. YouTube, Viddler, MetaCafe)
Banner Ads
Article Marketing (ex. Ezines, Press Releases)
Blog Posts

Once your prospects read your ad or view your video they should be prompted to visit your Capture Page. There, they should be able to learn a little more about you and what you are offering. I will give more detail on creating a capture page in a future post. In this post I want to stay focused on the overall marketing structure and the path of your prospects.

Two of the main purposes of your capture page should be to entice your prospect into wanting to learn more about you and your opportunity and to collect their name and email address for your email Auto Responder list. Typically you are going to “bribe” them into opting in to your list by offering them a free product of value (ex. secret strategies, ebooks, video reports) and more information on your product or opportunity. Once they opt-in, two things will happen.

They are added to your email list in your auto responder, and they are sent to the Sales Page of your opportunity or product. At this point they are now considered a lead, because you have their information.

Your sales page will prompt them to buy your product or join you in your business opportunity. From here they will either purchase your product or join your business or they wont. Most wont.

But don’t be discouraged, remember they are still in your email list, and your auto responder is going to continue to send them, tips, strategies videos and articles that you have created to provide value and build trust with your lead. All of which will send them back to either the sales page for your primary business or to a capture page for one of your relevant affiliate programs. If you are marketing an online business a relevant affiliate product would be something like a course on “how to dominate pay per click marketing and explode whatever business you are in“. Make sure that whatever offer you are sending your lead to will legitimately help them or you will lose the trust that you have built. This process is referred to as monetizing your list.

For the people that do end up saying Yes to your opportunity or product on your sales page you are still not finished with them. They will remain in your email auto responder. You may want to move them from your leads list to another list. There you will continue to send them emails offering them value, and directing them to sales or capture pages for other affiliate products that will help them grow their business.
